Abstract
The study aims to explore the media coverage of the efforts made by India and Pakistan to resolve conflicts and promote peace to accomplish the Unites Nation’s SDG 2030 agenda. By 2030, these worldwide objectives should be achieved. The study revolves around the matter of regional Peace. The study's goal is to draw attention towards various steps taken for resolving conflicts between India and Pakistan. The study also examines how media coverage impacts perceptions, public opinion, and policymaking regarding India-Pakistan relations, highlighting both potential and challenges in achieving peaceful outcomes through media engagement. It reveals that editorials can play a crucial role in mediating conflict between the two countries. The article analyzes the political situation in Pakistan, particularly focusing on the instability of the government, the role of the establishment, and the implications for Pakistan-India relations. It also emphasizes the importance of India's strategic and diplomatic efforts in response to the situation in Jammu & Kashmir and underscores the need for India to mobilize its resources to counter Pakistan's diplomatic moves. The results may be useful in fostering regional peace as SDG-2030 approaches. A mixed method approach was adopted for data collection. The qualitative and quantitative data will be acquired through content analysis of Pakistan's daily Dawn and India's TOI. Purposive sampling of newspapers Times of India and Dawn has been used to acquire data from Jan.1st.2019 to 31Dec.2023. The study employed the approach of Media Framing and Agenda setting theory.
