Abstract
The 21st century revolutionized the modes of communication in terms of covering news. The societal issue like “Islamic Extremism” which is triggering its grip in society because of its sensitizing presentation. The research revolves around explaining the role of media in countering and handling of the Islamic Extremism. The research also highlights the significance of Evidence in media coverage through Michael Foucault discourse analyses. Moreover, it exclaims that Pakistani media is unable to understand the science of Evidence therefore unnecessary exaggeration is increasing in covering the Islamic Extremism with passage of time. The paper identifies that ideology is been built across the media coverage which is hindering and deviating from the originality of the scene. It still has not gained full attention, but it is an important issue that has serious repercussions on the future generations and on the media industry. This Paper has established a problem of reporting of Islamic extremism in media that needs serious attention and concentration, as well as this paper expands a huge scope for new research for implementation of new strategies and revisiting the guidelines and principles of the way of media coverage is operating in Pakistan.
