GENDER DIFFERENTIALS IN EDUCATION IN NORTHEAST AND SOUTHEAST ASIAN COUNTRIES

Abstract

The term gender difference means economic and social distribution between men and women. Further gender differences have been seen between men and women in terms of job opportunities, remuneration, high level post, economic participation, education and etc. The objectives of this study will be to: examine gender differentials between male and female in education in context of Northeast and Southeast Asian countries, explore how gender difference prevails in the field of education in Northeast and Southeast Asian countries. This study is qualitative in nature and the data was collected through content analysis method. This study covers the gender differences in three levels of education that is school, college and university levels in the countries of northeast and southeast Asia. The findings shows that gender differences in education in Northeast and Southeast Asian countries exits. Therefore, on the bases of the findings, the recommendations were given.
