SOCIAL PROTECTION AND ITS IMPACT ON WELFARE OF THE ELDERLY IN PAKISTAN: A CASE STUDY FROM SOUTH PUNJAB
Abstract
This study tries to analysis the Social Protection and its impact on the welfare of the Elderly People in Pakistan: A Case Study of District Vehari. This study selected sample of the 200 old people living in the South Punjab districts such as Bahawalpur, Vehari and Burewala. This study has developed 3 models about this research and applied correlation test to check the interrelationship of the variables. This study also applied ANOVA test developed by Ronald Fisher. This test check the "variation" of the variables and it used to examine the dissimilarity among the means of variables used in a sample. For the prediction, this study used multi-numerical logistic model. This study concluded that the mostly persons who are financial independent, they do not live with their children. The health is very important for all the people at it also effects that the freedom, decisions and movement of the elderly people. This study also found that there is lack of old age house in South Punjab region. So the government should establish the old houses that provide the shelter to poor old and helpless people.
