Abstract

Minorities have faced discrimination in the social and political sphere in Pakistan since the country's inception. Discrimination and oppression against minorities have been observed on numerous occasions. The concerned institutions have remained unsuccessful in securing minorities' rights and honoring those principles on which Pakistan was established. Minorities in the country complain about forced marriage, religious conversions, marginal participation in elections, government jobs and exclusion in social life etc. This paper intends to highlight the marginalization and discrimination faced by minorities. It also focuses on how such discrimination and marginalization against minorities can be eradicated, where minorities can enjoy equal rights as Muslims.
